SUSSEX COUNTY WATCHDOG
In 2012, a local website uncovered a plot to turn county waste disposal over to a private vendor at an enormous cost to taxpayers. The expose nixed the deal and the county has now admitted that the current landfill will be adequate for at least three more decades. This is the power of citizen journalism.
Now new threats to our county’s fiscal well being and quality of life have surfaced. Because the website that uncovered the county waste plot appears to no longer be in operation, we have created a new medium to keep Sussex County taxpayers informed.
Sussex County Watchdog believes in reform and transparency on all levels of government. It is committed to citizen journalism with a local, independent-minded perspective. We seek to provide a layer of scrutiny of Sussex County politics and government that we find lacking in corporate journalism.
